Located in the picturesque Wentworth Valley, Wentworth Falls is a stunning natural feature that attracts visitors seeking tranquility and natural beauty. This waterfall is particularly captivating in the spring or after rainfall, as the water cascades dramatically over the rocks, creating a “bridal veil” effect. The shallow pool at the base is perfect for a refreshing wade, making it a family-friendly destination.


To reach Wentworth Falls, take Route 4 north from Truro. Approximately 2 kilometers past a gravel operation at Folly Lake, look for a dirt track on the left, marked by a steel gatepost, just south of the Wentworth Motel. The base of the falls is about 200 meters down this road. The hike is short, taking about 10 minutes, and is suitable for all skill levels. The trail is flat and well-maintained, making it accessible for most visitors. 


Wentworth Falls features multiple drops and a unique tunnel at the top where the water flows from. The falls drop approximately 50 feet, creating a beautiful and serene atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy the view from the base or take a short hike to the top for a different perspective.


Please note that swimming and jumping are not permitted at the falls.

Wentworth Valley Park — Embrace Nature


While Wentworth Falls offers a natural retreat, Wentworth Valley Park provides a more developed outdoor experience. This park is ideal for picnics, leisurely walks, and enjoying the scenic beauty of the valley. The park features well-maintained trails, picnic areas, and open spaces for relaxation. It’s a great spot for families and outdoor enthusiasts to spend a day immersed in nature. Here’s some tips.




Best Time to Visit: Spring and after rainfall for the most dramatic waterfall views.What to Bring: Comfortable footwear, water, and a camera to capture the stunning scenery.


Safety: Stay on marked trails and avoid the water’s edge to ensure safety.


Respect Nature: Leave no trace; pack out all trash and respect wildlife.




Whether you’re seeking a peaceful hike to Wentworth Falls or a relaxing day at Wentworth Valley Park, both destinations offer unique experiences that showcase the natural beauty of Nova Scotia. Sugar Moon Farm – A Maple Syrup Experience in Nova Scotia


Nestled in the picturesque Cobequid Hills near Earltown, Nova Scotia, Sugar Moon Farm offers a unique blend of culinary delights, outdoor adventures, and traditional maple syrup production. Established in 1996 by Scott and Quita Williams, the farm spans 200 acres and features a 2,500-tap maple syrup operation, a cozy log restaurant, and a network of scenic trails.


Sugar Moon Farm’s log restaurant serves a delectable array of maple-infused dishes, including classics like pancakes with maple syrup, maple mac and cheese with candied bacon, and maple hot chocolate. Brunch is available on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with options for adults starting at $25 and children’s meals from $9.


The farm is surrounded by over 30 km of wilderness trails, including the 6.2 km Rogart Mountain Trail, ideal for hiking and snowshoeing. In the winter, snowshoe rentals are available on weekends for $20 per adult and $5 for children.


Visitors can purchase a variety of maple products, such as syrup, maple butter, and pancake mix, at the Farm’s shop. The shop is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with farm pick-up available during the week by request.


Sugar Moon Farm is open year-round, with weekend brunch and activities available on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations are recommended, especially during the busy summer season.

Partridge Island — Discover the Bay of Fundy


Located across the Bay of Fundy from Cape Blomidon, Partridge Island holds significant historical and ecological importance. Known as “Wa’so’q” (meaning heaven) in Mi’kmaq, the island was traditionally used by the Mi’kmaq for harvesting natural resources and is rich in Kluskap legends. 


Ecological Importance


Partridge Island is a haven for wildlife, hosting over 50 species of birds, including the Peregrine Falcon. Its diverse ecosystems support various migratory and breeding birds, making it a significant site for birdwatching. 


Visiting Tips




Accessibility: Partridge Island is accessible via a natural causeway exposed during low tide, allowing visitors to walk across. However, visitors should be cautious of rapidly changing tides.


Best Time to Visit: Late spring to early fall offers the best conditions for exploring both the museum and the island.

Ottawa House By-the-Sea-Museum - A Historical Treasure


Situated on the Parrsboro Shore, the Ottawa House By-the-Sea Museum is one of Nova Scotia’s oldest surviving buildings, dating back to the 1780s. Originally constructed in the Georgian style, it has undergone extensive restoration and now serves as a museum and archival center. The museum is owned and operated by the Parrsboro Shore Historical Society and is a member of the Association of Nova Scotia Museums and the Council of Nova Scotia Archives. 


The Ottawa House was once the summer residence of Sir Charles Tupper, a Father of Canadian Confederation and the sixth Prime Minister of Canada. He renamed it “Ottawa House” in honor of Nova Scotia’s entry into Confederation. Annapolis Valley is known across North America for its apple orchards, making it an important piece of Nova Scotia’s agricultural industry. At its peak Nova Scotia would harvest nearly 3 million barrels of apples each fall. Every spring the fragrance of the apple blossoms paired with the beauty of the apple trees in full bloom is a magical atmosphere to experience. The Apple Blossom Festival is a tradition that started in 1933 and has continued to this day. It’s a festival to celebrate Annapolis Valley’s apple industry, the areas natural beauty and local talents.This years theme is Blossoms, Vineyards and Tides, the festival runs from May 28-June 1 2025. The committee has this years festival chalked full of exciting events for everyone. We have put together a list of our favourite things to check out. You can find the full schedule here. The opening Ceremonies kick off at 6:30 pm at the Old Orchard Inn located 153 Greenwich Road South. Wolfville Ridge.


I know I can’t be the only one that loves a good food truck party, and let me tell you this is going to be a party you don’t want to miss. With over 25 food trucks scheduled to be there, Yes you read that right over 25 You can find a full list of the vendors here  Along with the food trucks there will be live music, face painting and Glitter tattoos. They will all be meeting in the Louis Millett Community Complex Parking Lot, 9489 Commercial Street in New Minas. You can get all the details from here. 


Now once you have fill your belly you can head over to Kentville to join Jerome the Gravekeeper and his ghostly friends to take in the Kentville Ghost Walk. It is recommended that you be at least 10 years old to participate. Jerome the Gravekeeper promises a night full of history throughout the downtown core of the Devil’s Half Acre (Kentville). The Event starts 7:45 pm - 9:30 pm. They will meet in the outside parking lot of the Main Street Station. If the weather is bad they will preform in. The Kings County Museum. Click here to purchase tickets. On Friday May 30 there are lots of events to take in, starting with Orchard Bloom Walk at Noggins Farm.  They will have guided walks through the apple orchard showing off its beautiful blooms starting at 10:00 am, 11:00 am and 12:00 pm.Valley Art Workshops  Is hosting a Blossom Paint and Lunch at Bay of Fundy Brewing. You should plan to arrive early to have some lunch, the event is scheduled to run from 12:30 pm-3:30 pm and is open to anyone over the age of 14. You be painting an adorable bee on an apple blossom. It’s a good opportunity to get creative while enjoying a locally produced beer, cider or wine while you paint.Following the Blossom Paint and Lunch, at Memorial Park in Kentville will be the Blossom Bash with entertainment from the Bluesmobile.  You can pack a blanket or maybe a lawn chair and find a spot to enjoy the entertainment, food and fun. This is scheduled to run from 7 pm-10 pm ending just in time to take in the fireworks. Saturday May 31 is the busiest day of the festival it is loaded with community events.Things kick off at 10:00 am, with the Children’s Parade starting at 10:00 am in Downtown Kentville. This is a wonderful opportunity to come out and support today’s youth with their creativity and excitement of the festivities.Following the Children’s Parade at 11:00 am-1:00 pm will be a Carnival for Kids at Center Square in Kentville. This will be a space for dedicated to kids, for them to have some fun, get some treats and be kids. There will be some amazing vendors with kids in mind at this event.While the kids are enjoying the carnival also at Center Square will be the Black Woman in Excellence Vendor Market. The Market will bring live music, delicious food and many vendors offering cosmetics, hair braiding, body care, clothing, handmade crafts and more. Find all the details here Following the Children’s Carnival will be the Grand Street Parade, this parade starts at 1:00 pm from Cornwallis River Crossing and ends at 3:00 pm Memorial Park. Here is a list of the street closures for the parade. Get your Daubers ready After the Parade you can head over to Glow Bingo at Louis Millet Community Complex - 9489 Commercial Street, New Minas. This event was a hit last year, you do not want to miss it There will be lots of prizes to be wonAfter Bingo, Make sure you have your dancing shoes ready, the town of Kentville and Ruggles Towing is hosting Blossom Street Dance at Center Square Kentville. The Outdoor Dance starts at 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Entertainment will be provided by DJ RS Smooth, and they will have an accessible bar serving drinks. This is an event sounds like a lot of fun Click here to get your tickets.On June 1, The morning starts with the Blossom Car Show at Centerville Recreation Park. This event starts at 10:00 am-3:00 pm. This Show and Shine Event give you an opportunity to show off or maybe win one of the prizes with your classic car or your custom build. There will be fun for everyone Find more details here.Over in Greenwood at 904 Central Ave, the Blossom Vendor Market is sure not to disappoint. This vendor market will have over 55 vendors including youth vendors from the community. There will be food trucks, glitter Tattoos, henna and face painting. It’s sure to have something for everyone.The Northville Farm Heritage Center at 1158 Steadman Road is hosting this years Antique Tractor Pull. I think almost every Nova Scotian likes seeing an antique tractor especially when its showing off its pulling powers. If you want to participate in this event the registration starts at 10:00 am with the first pull scheduled to start at 12:00pm. Many camp grounds starting to open up for the upcoming season, people are heading to their cottages and campers to get them opened and cleaned up after the long winter months.  Lots of people start their gardening and post winter yard work.  They are pulling out their lawn furniture, some people even start filling their pools. Agricola Street Holiday Market


November 12 | Agricola Street (Between Charles &amp; North Street)


Agricola Street will be closed to vehicular traffic and open for a magical afternoon of shopping local vendors, live music, family activities and more during the Agricola Street Holiday Market. There'll also be food trucks and a beer gardens on site, and make sure to visit the shops and restaurants around the North End while you're there.

The Early Christmas Market

Over 65 small businesses and artisans will be at Mic Mac Mall for The Mom Market Collective's Early Christmas Market. Admission is free and there'll also be face painting, glitter tattoos and door prizes. Find them on the 2nd level by Decathlon and H&amp;M as well as on the lower level directly below from 12-5pm on November 12th.
