That's where Halifax's first ever Real Estate Mobile Office, or what we like to call, REMO, comes in. We fully customized this 16 foot travel trailer to serve as an office on the go; a place where we can work with you face to face, no matter where you are in Halifax Regional Municipality.

So how did this exciting new venture come to be? And where is it going? Let's hear it from the mind behind REMO himself, CENTURY 21 All Points' Broker & Co-Owner, David Yetman.

As we move into the Fall season, not only are the temperatures and the leaves changing but we are seeing a shift in the real estate market in Halifax.

The first part of 2021 was a “whirlwind” of activity including properties selling quickly, multiple offers and sale prices over the listed price. And yes, lots of buyers from around the country and beyond.

In the past month for buyers, we have started to see things improve in terms of fewer competitive offers and less inflation of pricing on offers. While certainly a popular sentiment, it's not entirely accurate. There are little fires here and little fires there, and it's true that houses in some areas are selling faster than others and some types of houses generate multiple offers.

In order to understand the market we are currently in here in Halifax, you need to understand what is driving the multiple offers, low inventory, etc.

A metric that REALTORS® use is the "Sales to List Price Ratio", or in others words... What is the percentage of price over the list price that homes are selling for?... On average!

Though thought by many to have been created for farmers, this is a myth and most farmers are against the time change. First suggested by Benjamin Franklin in a bid to conserve daylight, Daylight Saving Time was officially adopted by Germany during WWI. Energy consumption is the main reason for the time change but it has recently been argued that this “solution” is no longer necessary and Daylight Saving is often contested.

There is no credible evidence to show that the time change positively or negatively impacts energy consumption in the modern world. The time change has, however, been linked to many negative side effects, such as increased incidents…

Many people consider Spring to be the ideal season to list your home, and it certainly is the most popular time, but if you're considering selling your home there are many benefits to listing during the Holiday season!

1. People who look for a home during the winter months are more serious buyers. There may be fewer of them during the holidays but those who are looking are ready to pull the trigger.

2. People shop for homes all year. With listings available online, potential buyers are always browsing properties.

3. Some buyers may be looking to take advantage of tax breaks by purchasing a home before the end of the year.

4. Houses show better when decorated for the Holidays. Decorating your home makes it feel warmer and more inviting
