Citadel Hill is a must-visit for any avid sledder! The massive hill overlooking Downtown offers tons of space and many different inclines to choose from. The view of Halifax from the top of the hill is an added bonus!
Gorsebrook Field

Gorsebrook Field in Halifax's South End is another Haligonian favourite. This hill also offers differing amounts of steepness, making it a great hill for people of all ages.
The Pit

Once an actual quarry, "The Pit" is a large bowl-shaped field that makes one of the best sledding hills in Halifax during the winter. The incline is super steep, making this hill ideal for experienced sledders; helmets are recommended! The park also offers an amazing view of the Harbour to enjoy as you watch the kids sled.
Second Lake Hill

Second Lake Hill is so big that locals often go only half way down to avoid a long walk back to the top! Those that do make it to the top always say the ride down makes it well worth it.
Shearwater Hill

The hill along Hines Road by the Aviation museum in Shearwater has been a favourite sledding spot for the kids of Cole Harbour and Eastern Passage for many years. It's quite steep and there are some trees planted at the bottom, so don't forget to bring helmets!
