The Waverley and Fall River area is located just outside of the Beaverbank/Sackville area with a population estimated to be around 2,500. The commute to Downtown Halifax during peak traffic is about 35-45 minutes and to Burnside is about 15-20 minutes. The bridge is just about 10 minutes away! With easy access to the 102 Highway, commuting is a breeze. The Waverley/Fall River community's history is rich in gold mining. Each Labour Day weekend, Waverley holds a celebration called the "Gold Rush Days" to commemorate its history. The celebration includes a parade, karaoke and arts and crafts show and fireworks. There is even a mascot for the Gold Rush Days called Gold Rush Gus! The high school in the area is one of the best equipped high schools in all of Nova Scotia. All elementary and middle schools feed into Lockview High School.
