Halifax Holiday Events, Lights & Markets
You could think of Downtown Halifax as the Christmas Capital of HRM. Two of HRM's biggest holiday events, The Parade of Lights and the Tree Lighting at Grand Parade, take place in Downtown Halifax every year, and the waterfront serves as the primary spot to experience Evergreen Bright, with lights and activations all along the boardwalk, and it's home to the Evergreen Market. There's still plenty of holiday events and lights to enjoy though as you venture out of the Downtown core and to areas like Spryfield, Fairview and Clayton Park. Spryfield hosts its own Santa Claus Parade every year, and plenty of holiday themed markets pop up in the Fairview and Clayton Park area.
Dartmouth & Area Holiday Events, Lights & Markets
There's plenty of holiday fun to be had on the other side of the harbour as well! The TD Dartmouth Christmas Tree Lighting is always a wonderful holiday evening, full of festive music, holiday eats, and of course, tons of brilliant lights. Make sure to take a stroll through Downtown Dartmouth to experience the lights of Evergreen Bright before the season ends. More Christmas Tree Lightings, craft markets and festive activities can also be found in Dartmouth's surrounding areas, Cole Harbour, Eastern Passage and Lawrencetown.
