An Afternoon at the Spryfield Classic Car Show

Hey guys, welcome back for another edition of Parker’s Perspective! This time as promised, I’m going to tell you all about the Spryfield Classic Car Show that I went to. It was a perfect fall day, bright and sunny. The air smelled like a mix between BBQ and diesel. There was even a live band playing called Roadside Scarecrow with special guest Caity King, check out their Facebook page! There were tons of people and there must have been about 60 cars, all different makes, models and years!
Some of my favorites included a 1950’s Chevrolet 1500 pick up truck. It drove right by me and I could feel the motor rumble as it went by. I also couldn’t help but notice a cherry red 1969 Chevrolet SS396. There was a picture of what the car used to look like before it was restored by a company called “The Roses” from Mineville NS. I think they did an amazing job of restoring this beautiful muscle car! There were lots of custom wraps and paint jobs. My favorite was the metallic matte purplish blue finish on the Nissan R34 Skyline. I usually only get to see these types of cars in racing / drifting video games, so to see one in real life was a very cool experience.
No car show would be complete without a BBQ hotdog and Sprite! While I enjoyed my lunch I listened to the band and took in the atmosphere. Just as we were about to leave, a super cool muscle car did a burnout while leaving the parking lot! That was a moment I’ll never forget!
Thanks for checking out this edition of Parker’s Perspective, next time I’ll visit Alderney Landing’s Bluenose Ghost Festival. Hope you’ll tag along…if you dare!!!!
