Purcell's Cove is located near the Armdale area. There are many amenities located in this area. Grocery stores, gyms, pharmacies, parks and playgrounds are not far away. Sir Sandford Fleming Park is only a five minute walk from here and is one of the most popular parks to visit in HRM. It is a 95-acre urban park and is also known as "The Dingle", which means wooded valley. The park was donated to the people of Halifax by Sir Sandford Fleming in 1908. Sir Fleming is best known for introducing standard time to North America. The centrepiece of this park is the notable tower that commemorates Nova Scotia's achievement of representative government in 1758. The schools in the area feed into J.L. Ilsley High School.
