Sackville is one of the fastest growing communities in the HRM. Located right next to the community of Bedford, it holds a lot of the same amenities with the addition of the Sackville Sports Stadium. The Sports Stadium is equipped with two swimming pools, fitness centre, gymnasium, an ice surface, curling rink and programs for all ages. This area also boasts an outdoor water pad for kids situated right on First Lake. There is also a small community centre at First Lake with a large playground. In 2006, the Bedford-Sackville Connector Greenway opened for the first time the communities were connected by walking. This Greenway runs along the Sackville River from the intersection of Cobequid Road and Sackville Drive all the way to Bedford Place Mall.

About Sackville

Sackville has 19 elementary schools feeding into their two high schools, Sackville High and Millwood High. There are numerous independent retailers, restaurants and larger retailers as well. There is a grocery store located in 'Downtown Sackville' (Sackville Drive) as well as a movie theatre, library and medical services. Sackville also has a budding business association that holds community events and are quite involved in the area. Transportation is an easy route to head into Halifax when needed and the area now has an express route to take you there as well as their regular route.
