Formal and informal running clubs and fitness facilities are available all over the region depending on your interest and ability.
Learn to swim, or swim laps, or join a swim team at places like the Canada Games Centre in Halifax , the Zatzman Sportsplex in Dartmouth, or Cole Harbour Place in Cole Harbour. For those inclined to hockey, ringette, skating, and sledge hockey there are several rinks in and around Halifax including the BMO Centre in Bedford and the RBC Centre in Dartmouth.
In addition, smaller community centres offer a variety of programming and events across HRM. The Emera Oval located in Central Halifax offers outdoor skating and speed skating in the winter months and rollerblading, biking, and skateboarding in the summer months. Free to all with option to borrow skates and rollerblades and safety equipment for free.
Another fun outdoor activity available is the Adventure Earth Centres located in both Fleming Park in Halifax and Shubie Park in Dartmouth.
