Parker on the Halifax Harbour HopperTouring Halifax on the Harbour Hopper

August 24, 2022

Hello Halifax Harbour Hoppers! Parker here for our first edition of Parker’s perspective! My job is to experience some of the cool things going on in Halifax, take pictures and write down my impressions about what it was like! I want to show people that Halifax is a nice place to live. There are a lot of attractions and activities here in the city.

Today I got to experience the Harbour Hopper! I learned a lot of things that I didn’t know about Halifax history, for example we give Boston a beautiful Christmas tree every year to say thank you for the help they gave to our city after the Halifax explosion. I also learned that Brunswick street used to be nicknamed “ knock em’ down street, because it was a rough part of town.

The Harbour Hopper is an amphibious tank that was built during the Vietnam war for 1 million dollars. It got a makeover and now does tours! Today I got to experience what it's like to be a tourist in Halifax. I saw my city in a different and wonderful way.

Our tour guide Sage taught us lot’s of interesting things. I had so much of fun. If you get a chance I recommend checking it out, and remember… before you head into the Halifax Harbour, don’t forget the magic words “Ribbit Ribbit”!!!!!
