"I am waiting for the real estate market to change". As a Halifax REALTOR®, I actually stopped counting the number of times that I have heard that. Having worked for a major Canadian Chartered bank for 16 years, I can tell you that I know what will happen with interest rates. They will change, NOT ALWAYS DOWN. So you see, the Real Estate Market is similar.
What you may be hearing in the media about real estate in Canada is primarily Toronto & Vancouver. Real Estate is “local” and our market is very different from Toronto & Vancouver!
So while the optimist sees a glass as half full, and the pessimist sees it as half empty, the smart person drinks the liquid in the glass!
While the Optimist may be waiting for house prices to fall, and the Pessimist thinks they will continue to go up, the Smart person buys the house now.
