Annapolis Valley is known across North America for its apple orchards, making it an important piece of Nova Scotia’s agricultural industry. At its peak Nova Scotia would harvest nearly 3 million barrels of apples each fall. Every spring the fragrance of the apple blossoms paired with the beauty of the apple trees in full bloom is a magical atmosphere to experience. The Apple Blossom Festival is a tradition that started in 1933 and has continued to this day. It’s a festival to celebrate Annapolis Valley’s apple industry, the areas natural beauty and local talents.

This years theme is Blossoms, Vineyards and Tides, the festival runs from May 28-June 1 2025. The committee has this years festival chalked full of exciting events for everyone. We have put together a list of our favourite things to check out. You can find the full schedule here
The opening Ceremonies kick off at 6:30 pm at the Old Orchard Inn located 153 Greenwich Road South. Wolfville Ridge.

I know I can’t be the only one that loves a good food truck party, and let me tell you this is going to be a party you don’t want to miss. With over 25 food trucks scheduled to be there, Yes you read that right over 25!! You can find a full list of the vendors here  Along with the food trucks there will be live music, face painting and Glitter tattoos. They will all be meeting in the Louis Millett Community Complex Parking Lot, 9489 Commercial Street in New Minas. You can get all the details from here. 

Now once you have fill your belly you can head over to Kentville to join Jerome the Gravekeeper and his ghostly friends to take in the Kentville Ghost Walk. It is recommended that you be at least 10 years old to participate. Jerome the Gravekeeper promises a night full of history throughout the downtown core of the Devil’s Half Acre (Kentville). The Event starts 7:45 pm - 9:30 pm. They will meet in the outside parking lot of the Main Street Station. If the weather is bad they will preform in. The Kings County Museum. On Friday May 30 there are lots of events to take in, starting with Orchard Bloom Walk at Noggins Farm.  They will have guided walks through the apple orchard showing off its beautiful blooms starting at 10:00 am, 11:00 am and 12:00 pm.

Valley Art Workshops  Is hosting a Blossom Paint and Lunch at Bay of Fundy Brewing. You should plan to arrive early to have some lunch, the event is scheduled to run from 12:30 pm-3:30 pm and is open to anyone over the age of 14. You be painting an adorable bee on an apple blossom. It’s a good opportunity to get creative while enjoying a locally produced beer, cider or wine while you paint.

Following the Blossom Paint and Lunch, at Memorial Park in Kentville will be the Blossom Bash with entertainment from the Bluesmobile.  You can pack a blanket or maybe a lawn chair and find a spot to enjoy the entertainment, food and fun. This is scheduled to run from 7 pm-10 pm ending just in time to take in the fireworks
Saturday May 31 is the busiest day of the festival it is loaded with community events.

Things kick off at 10:00 am, with the Children’s Parade starting at 10:00 am in Downtown Kentville. This is a wonderful opportunity to come out and support today’s youth with their creativity and excitement of the festivities.

Following the Children’s Parade at 11:00 am-1:00 pm will be a Carnival for Kids at Center Square in Kentville. This will be a space for dedicated to kids, for them to have some fun, get some treats and be kids. There will be some amazing vendors with kids in mind at this event.

While the kids are enjoying the carnival also at Center Square will be the Black Woman in Excellence Vendor Market. The Market will bring live music, delicious food and many vendors offering cosmetics, hair braiding, body care, clothing, handmade crafts and more. Find all the details here 
Following the Children’s Carnival will be the Grand Street Parade, this parade starts at 1:00 pm from Cornwallis River Crossing and ends at 3:00 pm Memorial Park. Here is a list of the street closures for the parade. 

Get your Daubers ready!! After the Parade you can head over to Glow Bingo at Louis Millet Community Complex - 9489 Commercial Street, New Minas. This event was a hit last year, you do not want to miss it! There will be lots of prizes to be won!

After Bingo, Make sure you have your dancing shoes ready, the town of Kentville and Ruggles Towing is hosting Blossom Street Dance at Center Square Kentville. The Outdoor Dance starts at 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Entertainment will be provided by DJ RS Smooth, and they will have an accessible bar serving drinks. This is an event sounds like a lot of fun!! On June 1, The morning starts with the Blossom Car Show at Centerville Recreation Park. This event starts at 10:00 am-3:00 pm. This Show and Shine Event give you an opportunity to show off or maybe win one of the prizes with your classic car or your custom build. There will be fun for everyone! Find more details here.

Over in Greenwood at 904 Central Ave, the Blossom Vendor Market is sure not to disappoint. This vendor market will have over 55 vendors including youth vendors from the community. There will be food trucks, glitter Tattoos, henna and face painting. It’s sure to have something for everyone.

The Northville Farm Heritage Center at 1158 Steadman Road is hosting this years Antique Tractor Pull. I think almost every Nova Scotian likes seeing an antique tractor especially when its showing off its pulling powers. If you want to participate in this event the registration starts at 10:00 am with the first pull scheduled to start at 12:00pm. The Festival finishes out its festivities with the Grand Opening at Red Fox Cider Company from 12:00 pm-5:00 pm. Located at 5785 Brooklyn Street in Grafton, Red Fox is a brand new cider company who have officially opened their doors just in time to partake in the Apple Blossom festivities.
