Halloween is finally coming! 31 Days!!! Are you as excited as I am?

If you’re anything like me and my family, you LOVE Halloween and everything that comes along with it. The scary, the cute, the funny, and the gory; it’s our favourite time of the year.

With all the Blockbuster Movies that came out in late 2018 and 2019, there is sure to be a lot of our little ones wanting to sport the newest Superhero, Villain or character costumes!

Here are a few of the favourite picks I’ve come up with for 2019:

First up is the most adorable costume for babies.

As I’m sure you know, the live action release of Dumbo came out earlier this year and this costume has got to be one of the cutest baby costumes I have seen to date! I may be partial to elephants, with them being my favourite animal, but come on! Just look at this costume!!!! I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot of little Dumbo’s at our doors this year.  My second pick for awesome baby costumes would have to be Jack Jack, from The Incredibles 2! Because, who doesn’t want to have a baby that has 14 superpowers!?!? I’ve always wanted to do a family costume with The Incredibles but it just never worked out. Apparently, you can’t force your family to dress alike. Who knew? Both of these costumes can be easy DIY's if you’re up for it. If you click on the picture for the DIY Jack Jack, it will bring you to a great blog called Project Mama. The instructions are on there!

Next, we move on to the toddler/preschooler costumes. Let’s take a minute to recognize how amazing (not sure if this is the right word) the toddler/preschool stage is.  This is when they start to realize that they are separate individuals and want to dress themselves (among other magical things). I will have a moment of silence for the parents of toddlers and think of you during this difficult time. May the odds be ever in your favour! Hopefully the costume decision making process won’t be too hard on you. You can’t go wrong with a CLASSIC Jack Skellington or Batman costume! Vampirina (who is still a fave in our house), Peppa and Chase are always a perfect pick too!

Next, let’s move on to kid costumes. This category is HUGE and there is so much going on for ingenious costumes, I don’t know where to start. My daughter is 6 years old and is obsessed with everything zombie. She has decided to be a zombie bride this year, despite her mother’s suggestion of being a kitty cat! I guess that thing of becoming their own person continues throughout their life? But I digress. This list will be popular this Halloween so make sure you get out early enough to not disappoint!

  • Aladdin’s Princess Jasmine, Aladdin or Genie! – The release of the live action Disney’s Aladdin was a welcomed one in our house! It is after all, our (my) favourite Disney movie ever. We (I) may or may not know every single word to the entire movie! With these costumes, you’ll be “one jump ahead of the breadline”!  Family costume inspiration? Ya!

  • If you haven’t seen Avengers End Game, I’m not sure where you have been living over this past summer! Some more #SquadGoals to aspire to!

Hopefully this post gives you some inspiration as we move into the busy October month.

These costumes can be purchased through many different websites. Local is always best in our books and homemade even better! If you have time to tackle things like making your own costumes, my hat goes off to you! Maybe you have some pictures of your homemade costumes? If so, we would love to see them! You can email them to Lyndsay.Hart@century21.ca and they might be featured on our Facebook page in the upcoming month.

Our next Blog Post will be Halloween themed as well so stay tuned for that one next week. Happy October folks!

As always, please leave a comment and let us know what you think.
