Natal Day weekend is almost here which means it's just about time for a long weekend of relaxing in the sun, enjoying live music, going to the parade, and of course, fireworks! There tons of events happening in Halifax and Dartmouth this Natal Day weekend. Some are time-honoured traditions, like BuskerFest and the Bridgewalk, and other are brand new, like Crescendo Fest, Halifax's first music festival featuring all Black musicians! Keep reading for what to do and where to go to celebrate the birth of Halifax-Dartmouth.
BuskerFest
August 2nd-7th | Halifax & Dartmouth waterfronts
Prepare to be amazed, the Buskers are coming to town! The best street performers and musicians from around the world will be performing on the Halifax and Dartmouth Waterfronts during BuskerFest. BuskerFest is a six day annual festival beloved by Haligonians of all ages.

Crescendo Fest
August 4th & 5th | Grand Parade, downtown halifax
Crescendo Fest is a brand new music festival showcasing all Black artists! The festival is comprised of a conference where all are invited to learn, network and collaborate and a free public concert featuring Black Canadian artists in Grand Parade! View the festival schedule at CrescendoFest.com.

Dartmouth Sunshine Series
August 5th-7th | Ferry Terminal Park, Downtown Dartmouth
The Dartmouth Sunshine free concert series in Ferry Terminal Park will come to an end with Natal Day weekend performances.
The weekend will begin with local soul/blues musician Charlie A'Court performing that Saturday Night. On Sunday, the 17th African Nova Scotian Music Association Freedom Festival will take the stage. Then the Kiwanis Natal Day Family Fun Day will close the weekend on Monday.

Halifax Harbour Natal Day Fireworks
August 5th, 10pm | Halifax Harbour
Get ready for a spectacular fireworks show over Halifax Harbour on August 5th! The fireworks will start at 10pm, view the Map of the Barge location here.
MacPass Miles & Bridgewalk
August 6th | MacDonald bridge
See the Halifax Harbour in all it's glory from the MacDonald Bridge! The MacPass Miles races and Bridgewalk event are annual events where the bridge closes to vehicular traffic and the public is invited to experience the bridge on foot.
The MacPass Miles Races will take place in the morning from 8:30-11:30am. It's free for children and $10 for adults to participate in the MacPass Miles races, with all proceeds going to the Canadian Mental Health Association - Nova Scotia Division. Register online here.
Between 2pm and 4pm, the bridge will be populated with live performers, exciting and educational booths, snacks and more for the 2023 BridgeWalk.
Note that the MacDonald Bridge will be closed August 6th from 7:30am to 5pm.
Dartmouth Natal Day Road Race
august 7th, 8am | Downtown Dartmouth
The 117th Edition of the Dartmouth Natal Day Road Races will take place on the morning of Natal Day, right before the annual Natal Day Parade. The Dartmouth Natal Day Road Races take great pride in being the one of the oldest road races in North America! Competitive runners, recreational runners and walkers are all invited to participate in this fun and affordable race. Register to participate online here.
Natal Day Parade

The 126th Natal Day Parade will start at 10am on Natal Day and in extra exciting news - this year our Team will be in the Parade with REMO, our Real Estate Mobile Office! The parade is always such a great event for the whole Halifax-Dartmouth community and we're so excited to be a part of it this year.
Lake Banook Natal Day Fireworks
August 7th, 9:30pm | Lake Banook
End the long weekend with a bang at the 126th Natal Day fireworks on Lake Banook. The fireworks show will begin at 9:30pm on Natal Day. Note that Prince Albert Road will be closed from 8:30pm-10pm that evening.
